Build New Component - Step 4

For component which can possibly have actuators, such as control valves, the following dialog displays letting you define the default origin and direction of the actuator for the component.

Note: Note that these settings are a default, and can be modified upon placement of the component. The exception to this is if the Fixed Origin Offset option is turned on, in which case the origin point of the actuator will be locked upon placement.

To define the Actuator Origin/Direction:

  1. Click the Origin button and pick an origin point for the actuator on the component. This lets you select an origin point which differs from the origin point of the component.
  2. Click the Direction button rotate the actuator to the correct orientation. The actuator will rotate around the origin point.

Once you have pick the direction, the Angle field will reflect the direction angle with respect to the +X axis being 0 degrees.

Note: This Angle can also be set manually. As you set the angle and tab to the next field, the image drawing will be updated.
  3. Turn on the Fixed Origin Offset option if you want to have the actuator origin defined here locked when the component is placed.
  4. When finished, click Next to continue or Back to review the previous step.
